After only two month of releasing there debut CD "Creating A Monster" SHIFT is very happy to announce that they have now signed a MAJOR distribution deal with NIGHTMARE RECORDS.   This deal puts our CD's in all the big music chains in the U.S. and Canada, and in over 20 different countries outside the U.S. So a big thanks goes out to Lance King of Nightmare Records.   So if you go to a store and don't see SHIFT just ask, and they WILL GET IT!

Inspiration is sometimes drawn from life's difficult lessons that we all live through and learn by.  Baltimore, Maryland's own SHIFT can't help drawing inspiration from the paths they've traveled, both musically and personally.

The core partnership of Rich Davis (guitar), and Chris Lembach (drums) began almost two decades ago in the progressive/power metal band Mystic-Force. Feeling it was time to move forward and explore new musical frontiers, Rich and Chris put their past behind them and began SHIFT. Shortly afterward, Jeff Caudle (vocals), from Cypher, joined the long-time duo to add an even greater sound dynamic.

SHIFT is dedicated to perfecting their idea of what great music can and should be. Aggressive, melodic, and dark are the words that best describe SHIFT's musical style. The band plays with an intensity and ferocity that draws the listener into  the dark landscapes painted by the lyrics. There is substance, passion, true emotion and social relevancy to every SHIFT song. The music is heavy while still melodic, intricate yet driving, and socially enraged.

The band members can't predict the future, but they do know there is no looking back. They know who they are and what they stand for.
